Speech on River joining and challenges, short Speech on River joining and challenges

Good morning everyone. Today I would like to speak a few words on  river joining and challenges.
India is one of the country with water resources. Being a monsoon country, the land frequently witness heavy rainfall causing damage to the nation. Against some backdrops the river joining programme has been given a big push by NDA government in order to address solution for problems like flood and drought.
The river joining programme seek to the transfer of water from surplus area to deficit area in the country. It also supply the water to all places. Most of the rivers in India are untapped and flows to the sea every year. Hence river joining programme is necessary to solve the problems like occurrence of drought and flood in some places. And it also prevent the the flow of fresh water into sea and increase the India's surface water.
Though the river joining programme is most ambitious, it has attracted a lot of criticism due to social, political, economical cost associated with it. They are:  This project need an investment of Rs 11 lakh crore. Further central government and the state government will be tussle over the expenditure. This project need a lot of land to fix the cannel for the transfer of water from one place to another. Hence it may destroy some forest land. This project is not been studied in details. Another main problem is that the river joining is related to  state government. Hence it is the responsibility of central government to build this programme in order to find solution for flood and drought in India and it is our responsibility of every citizen of India to support it.

Thank you one and all to giving me the opportunity to speak here.
